Grayson L. Davis
Attorney

Grayson L. Davis is a native Texan, graduating from Texas A&M University as a Distinguished Military Graduate. He served six years in the U.S. Army as an artillery officer and Army Aviator. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross, Bronze Star, Army Commendation Medal and Air Medal with 18 oak leaf clusters.  He earned a Doctor of Jurisprudence from South Texas College of Law. His interest in title examination began with Houston and American Title Companies while attending law school. After graduation from law school, he served as an administrative assistant to a Texas State Senator. He then entered the practice of law, commencing his title examination in oil and gas. He is licensed in the State of Texas and North Dakota. He is Board Certified in Oil, Gas and Mineral Law in the State of Texas, and a member of the oil and gas sections of the state and Houston bars.


Amy Pham Heilbrun
Attorney

Amy Pham Heilbrun is a native Houstonian with an undergraduate and law degree from the University of Houston. She was admitted to the State of Texas Bar in 2003. She began her oil & gas career as a landman and obtained insightful experience in title research, curative, and due diligence for acquisition and divestitures of leasehold and mineral interests. She has extensive experience examining title, rendering title opinions, and performing due diligence services.


Cary S. Watson
Attorney

Cary comes from a family reared in the oil and gas industry predominately in East and South Texas.  He was born in Tyler, Texas, and lived almost entirely in San Antonio and Corpus Christi until he entered Texas A & M University in 1970.  Cary received his J. D. Degree in 1976 at the University of Texas School of Law where he served as an Associate Editor for the International Law Journal.  Cary took a summer course on English law at the London School of Economics in 1975-1977.

After passing the Bar, Cary has practiced in Houston almost continuously since 1977, predominantly in the energy and corporate law fields. He has served on the State Bar of Texas Grievance Committee for Harris County and on the Board of the Houston Bar Association Referral Service.


John Halamicek
Attorney

John is a native Texan, born and raised in Central Texas. He comes from an oil and gas family as his father was a landman. He earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Texas at Austin in 2006. Shortly thereafter he began his oil and gas career as a landman and gained experience leasing, examining and researching title, and building runsheets in East Texas and the Barnett Shale. In 2012 he earned a Doctor of Jurisprudence from South Texas College of Law and was admitted to the State Bar of Texas in November of 2012. John is a member of several Professional Associations, including the Oil, Gas and Mineral Law Section, State Bar of Texas; the Houston Bar Association; the Oil, Gas and Mineral Law Section, Houston Bar Association; the Houston Young Lawyer’s Association; and the American Association of Petroleum Landmen.


Kevin S. Franz
Of Counsel

Kevin S. Franz was born and raised in Katy, Texas, where he currently resides. Kevin graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree from Texas A & M University in 1985. He received Distinguished Student Awards and was a member of the Sigma Iota Epsilon Honorary Management Fraternity while attending Texas A & M. Kevin graduated from South Texas College of Law in 1994 with a Doctor of Jurisprudence. He earned entrance into the Order of the Lytae while attending South Texas College of Law. Kevin started his law practice in 1995 examining title for the oil and gas industry, and has continued examining title as the primary focus of his law practice throughout his legal career.


Phyllis Dent
Landman

Phyllis E. Dent is a native of Wichita Falls, Texas. She is a magna cum laude graduate of the University of Houston with a B.S. in math and education. After doing post graduate work in counseling, she taught at Duchesne Academy of the Sacred Heart for several years. Thereafter, she was the office manager for an oil and gas law firm for several years where she also was a closing agent for real estate transactions. She began work as a field landman in the 1980s, working in East, Central and South Texas preparing runsheets, abstracts and satisfying requirements in title opinions. Since 2007, she has been the in-house landman for the Law Office of Grayson L. Davis, where she is liaison to the various land broker companies and assists the attorneys of the firm in the rendering of title opinion and other matters.
